Adeleke Calls for Review of Staff Audit Procedure

Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has called for an immediate review of the staff audit currently taking place in the state’s public service. He also reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving and safeguarding the welfare of workers.

During a joint meeting with labor leaders and the auditing firm on Thursday evening, Governor Adeleke instructed the joint committee overseeing the audit to address any issues and establish procedures for a smooth process. The governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, announced this in a statement to journalists in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State. It should be noted that the staff audit ordered by Governor Adeleke was halted when state civil servants refused to participate and walked out on the auditors.

After hearing from labor representatives and other stakeholders, Governor Adeleke expressed his dissatisfaction with the inconvenience the audit has caused public servants. He instructed the Head of Service to adjust the procedures to ensure the well-being and comfort of the workforce. “I have read many comments and complaints from the public service and have listened to all of you at this meeting. We must adjust the procedures to have a mutually acceptable exercise. We should remember that the purpose of this audit is to stop leakages and improve staff welfare. Therefore, the joint committee should urgently meet to decide on two items: creating a new, acceptable timetable that takes into account the diversity and peculiarities of each government agency or ministry.
